Old Man Nomad

After five years of slow travel across 15+ countries, I’ve learned a few things about freedom, simplicity, and life on the road. I created Old Man Nomad to share stories, reflections, and tips for anyone curious about living a minimalistic, slow-traveling lifestyle.

About me...

I’m an American who left the U.S. five years ago after a near-fatal accident reminded me that life’s too short, it can end abruptly and unexpectedly. Months in a wheelchair gave me time to rethink everything, and when I could walk again, I didn’t go back to my old life. Since then, I’ve slow-traveled through more than 15 countries, staying anywhere from a month to a year. I travel light, live simply, and collect experiences instead of stuff. Lately, I’ve been in what I call chill-mode. I left remote work behind a couple of years ago and now spend my time exploring, reflecting, and learning as I go. I’ve created the site “Old Man Nomad” and the associated social media accounts, because it’s high-time I get off my butt. And it’s a way of sharing what I’ve picked up — from practical travel tips to thoughts on minimalist living to making a life abroad. If you're curious about a different path or just want to hear what it's like out here, you're in the right place.
